Cholesterol Is It a Bad Thing?
ByThanks for writing. The Omega-3s in Res-Q 1250 are by far the best prevention against heart attacks and stroke. Its anti-inflammatory effect reaches across the blood brain barrier and you are doing the right thing.
Cholesterol reduction is a slightly different topic. I know high cholesterol is considered a high risk factor, but once again there are better questions to ask. Cholesterol is a natural substance that is needed in the body and the body will produce the amount that is needed or being called for according to what is going on and in this case in the arteries.
In 2002 the homocysteine theory came back into play and many doctors and scientists who study these things feel that the toxic amino acid called homocysteine is really the culprit to blame. This amino acid scrapes the walls of the arteries and a strong negative reaction occurs and the body rushes cholesterol in to save you from the internal bleeding that would otherwise result.
So in actual fact the cholesterol is doing a good job of patchwork in the arteries. Like patching holes in the road, we can develop speed bumps when there is too much cholesterol piling on and that’s when the arteries can start to narrow.
So artificially lowering the cholesterol level is not necessarily a good thing if the body needs it. Secondly the statin drugs like crestor and Lipitor are toxic in themselves to the liver and also impedes the production of CoQ10 which is needed for muscle energy, the heart being a muscle that needs CoQ10 the most. So how in the world do you help people with their heart health by prescribing a drug that robs the heart of energy? It’s a little beyond me.
So what’s the solution? Res-Q1250 will indeed lower triglycerides quickly but it’s a longer term endeavor to right the cholesterol numbers with just Omega-3s. I firmly believe in ingesting as much Omega-3s as possible to offset the years of deficiency one might have. And this is your best insurance! I also suggest Sublingual B-12 vitamin to reduce the homocysteine levels. (It’s inexpensive.)
And no matter what, I would definitely be increasing CoQ10 and we have a very potent, highly absorbable form called Ubiquinol. Another supplement is Res-Q’s LDL-X2 which is a combination of polyphenols that will work towards lowering the total cholesterol. Another way is to increase fiber intake which will bind with the cholesterol and move it out of the body. Resveratrol has been in the news lately and there are high hopes for this to be an offset to many degenerative diseases, including diabetes and heart disease.
Last but not least, before submitting to a toxic form of a statin, there is a natural one called Red Rice Yeast. Lipitor was created from studies done on Red Rice Yeast. It’s a Chinese herbal and has been around for thousands of years. It will act just as quickly but its not synthetic. And again we highly recommend pairing it with CoQ10. To make it easier for you I will add some links here to the products and a couple of articles they may be helpful to you and your doctor.
