Snow and Ice in Baltimore
Posted by: | CommentsHow did you do in the big snow storm? Let me know by return email
or you can post your story in comments below!
I live on a small cove that joins the Back River near Baltimore. I
was so impressed by the movement of the water yesterday morning. We
had a lot of wind and it was snowing sideways most of the morning
and early afternoon.
In a space of thirty minutes, we watched the entire cove freeze
over. At first the water was moving as it usually does in the wind.
With movement still happening, it seemed as if ridges were forming
and the waves were forming defined “roadways”. After a few more
minutes, the movement of the water was faint and we realized that
we were looking at a cove that was ice covered.
It was weird and amazing all at the same time.

Vision Support - Omega-3s Help!
Posted by: | CommentsOmega-3 Fatty Acids Protect Against Vision Loss
Omega-3 fatty acids found in fatty fish such as tuna and salmon may protect against progression of age-related macular degeneration, but the benefits appear to depend on the stage of disease and whether certain supplements are taken, researchers say.
The researchers calculated intakes of docosahexaenoic acid and eicosapentaenoic acid from dietary questionnaires administered to 2,924 men and women, ages 55 to 80, participating in an eight-year supplement trial, the Age-Related Eye Disease Study of the National Eye Institute.
The trial results suggest taking supplements of antioxidants plus zinc prevents progression of late-stage AMD.
The results, which are published online ahead of print in the British Journal of Ophthalmology, are in a report from researchers at the Laboratory for Nutrition and Vision Research, and Jean Mayer USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging at Tufts University.
Eating two to three servings of fatty fish such as salmon, tuna, mackerel, shellfish, and herring every week would achieve the recommended daily intake of docosahexaenoic acid and eicosapentaenoic acid.
However, the majority of the study participants participants and Americans eat a much lower level than recommended.
“If changing dietary habits is not easy, supplementation is an option,” says corresponding author Chung-Jung Chiu.

Proof is in the Pudding

Hi Garey!
Well, I truly have a testimony. My cholesterol was 259 in August and I began taking the RESQ 1250, Red Rice Yeast and CoQ 10. I had another blood test October 10 and saw my medical doctor on October 16 for the results. Needless to say she was in shock. My cholesterol results showed my total cholesterol was 176. She was amazed as she said that Zocor usually doesn’t drop the cholesterol that fast. I told her I never got the prescription filled and explained what I was doing. She said whatever it is keep doing it. I don’t have to go for another blood test till Spring.
I did some reading and you need to always take Co10 with the Red Rice Yeast as it will deplete your system of CoQ10. I want to thank you for your wonderful natural products and for giving me back great health without chemical drugs. I hope you will use this in your publications. If people don’t believe me they can call or email me, I have the proof.
Thanks,

Great testimonial. Thanks Lynn! Great Job! Remember, red rice yeast is a naturally occurring “statin -like” herb in that it will inhibit cholesterol from being produced in the liver. Not the very best way to lower cholesterol, but highly effective. Remember, it’s not just to win the one game but to have a winning season and that means lots of Omega-3s, good exercise, reducing stress, and increasing fiber and phyto-sterols in the diet. Make sure you give your doctor the website or print out some articles for her. It’s difficult for doctors to keep up to date with all the remarkable wellness products out there but we all now have the internet and its good if we can share our good news with doctors, medical professionals and other health care practitioners.
