Can Res-Q 1250 Become Rancid

Hi,

I recently heard that fish oil without vitamin E can become rancid inside and outside the body. If this is true, what keeps the Res-Q brand of fish oil from becoming rancid in the bottle and should I be taking vit. E to keep it from becoming rancid internally? -Teresa

Hi Teresa,

Interesting and thoughtful question. Res-Q 1250 is a “pure, Omega-3 supplement” containing 800 mgs of EPA/DHA (the Omega-3s we need) but the capsules actually contain 1250 mgs of substance. The other 450 mgs is a proprietary blend of antioxidants and Rosemary that prevent the essential oils from becoming rancid. Further supplementation with Vitamin E is not necessary for the sake of receiving the goodness from the Res-Q 1250 but you may want to use Vitamin E for other reasons. Vitamin E is one of the base antioxidants but there are many more powerful antioxidants available including our Cell Power product. Thanks again for the thoughtful question.

Shelf life for Res-Q 1250 capsules is 2 years or better and remember to refrigerate the liquid version of Res-Q 1250.
